Modern Latina is a digital magazine founded by Linda Castillo to celebrate and empower Latina women through stories, culture, lifestyle, and community. Since 2005, it has grown into a vibrant platform amplifying Latina voices, fostering conversations, and inspiring readers with content ranging from lifestyle and culture to empowerment and career.

What is needed?

Modern Latina’s website needed a full redesign to reflect a modern magazine-style look and feel that matches its mission and audience. The original site had an outdated design, scattered navigation, and lacked the functionality needed to highlight blog content and engage readers effectively. In addition, the client required assistance with migrating years of blog content, updating categories, and streamlining email accounts.

Implementation

We partnered with Modern Latina to deliver a complete redesign with a fresh, editorial-style layout that aligns with leading online magazines. Our work included:

• Website Redesign: Implemented a modern, magazine-style design with improved navigation, clean typography, and a focus on visuals to showcase stories more effectively.
• Content Migration: Migrated all blog articles, ensuring proper formatting, categories, and consistency across posts.
• Email Migration: Backed up and migrated the client’s professional email accounts, streamlining inbox management and starting fresh where requested.
• Newsletter & Ads Integration: Added clear newsletter signup banners, Google Ads placements, and category snippets to boost engagement and monetization.
• Instagram Integration (Planned): Set up functionality to embed Instagram feeds, bringing real-time social content to the website.
• Hosting Migration: Transitioned the site to Weblychee’s hosting for better stability, security, and long-term maintenance.

The result is a modern, functional, and inspiring digital magazine that reflects the mission of Modern Latina, a hub for connection, culture, and empowerment.
